Finally, a dock that supports three monitors (and works!)

I've tried a few docks recently for work where I could get two monitors to work (or worse - NO monitors) and I was wondering how well this dock would work out. I was very pleasantly surprised to discover not only did this dock support three external monitors, but it actually has three 'normal' video output ports. The rest of the ports also all worked as hoped for with no problems. Yes, this is a ~$200 dock (as of the time I ordered it) but since it actually does everything it claims to, that's actually money well spent for the added screen capacity.

Nice

Works well! Hookup was fairly simple and straightforward. Everything is made well, and it seems like they used quality materials.

I can't comment on longevity or performance over time quite yet, but I will update this review if something happens.

Good all around docking station at a decent price point

I travel extensively and work remotely and doing so have become an expert on USB docking stations. One important thing to know is that there's no such thing as a 'one size fits all' docking station. If you work remotely they're essential for the simple reason that even high end laptops never have enough USB and other ports. Case in point-- I've got the latest model of a high end, brand name laptop manufacturer. From a performance standpoint, it's a beast. It has a whopping *3* USB ports--all USB-C. The power cord occupies one of them, so that gives us only two. If you use an external mouse, there goes one more. That's my situation--I basically have one USB-C port for anything else I need to attach. This doesn't even consider the need for USB-A ports. Since I travel/work at least half of the year, that won't cut it.

Just adding a few more USB ports via a hub isn't the answer either. For starters, you need a powered USB hub if you're going to be doing anything serious. I'll sometimes be in a city for a month or two and in that case I want to attach one or more external monitors. I'll be using my laptop as a 'desktop replacement' during my extended stay and that requires different options than just taking it down to the local coffee shop to do some work. There's also the need to be prepared for as many situations as possible and that requires more connection options of a wider variety. Everyone's needs are different--some people need more robust A/V capability, I need enough ports and power to support multiple peripherals, etc.

This is a very good 'general use' docking station. It does a lot of things and does them well. If you want the multiple displays, you can go with a triple display mode using this docking station. You've got a ton of ports at your disposal--2 HDMI, 2 Display port, 1 USB C, 2 USB A, 2 USB 2.0, 1 USB C power port, an ethernet port, an aux port and a USB C host port. It has very good data transfer speeds and you can charge your laptop with the PD/USB-C port. It's not the smallest docking station you can get but it's a good balance of power and portability. Weight is good at 1.72 pounds. Just a good all around solid docking station. Highly recommended!
